According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, a baby is born suffering from opioid withdrawal every 15 minutes. Many of them wind up in the NICU, hooked up to machines designed to keep them stable. But while the machines may help them recover, a group of volunteer cuddlers at a hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, are helping them heal emotionally, too.
