The troublesome toy company found last month's last month as Tru Kids Brands, about half a year after the "R" Toys eliminated their stores in the United States. It is now owned by the company's former creditors.
Close more than 700 American Toys "R" stores of the United States last spring. But the company kept 900 stores open in Europe, Asia and India. The new owners intend to open 70 other stores abroad – mostly in Asia – by the end of the year. They are thinking of plans for the United States market, including brick and mortar stores and online sales, although it is not clear when a relay is over.
"We are really interested in how to bring back the brand to the United States," said Richard Barry, Chief Executive of the new company, with CNN Business Monday. The world's leading global merchandise officer was "R" Linn Toys.
"We are talking to a whole set of different companies, there are already retailers, some high tech companies," said Barry. "We work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to bring their lives. At this point, we are not happy to promise what is possible."
Brand Kids Tru owners have won the rights to "Last" brand Toys last October. They also accepted the assets and other brands of the previous company, including Babies "R" Us, Geoffrey the Giraffe, and Imaginarium.
Brand Kids has been corrupted in the United States since then. The company's team with US grocer Kroger ( KR ) to set up the "Toy Geoffrey Box" in 600 stores during the holidays. The promotion was thirty-five toys, which had the "Toys" giraffe mascot.
The company is holding talks to return to the UK and Australia, where it also closed operations last year. But Barry said that the United States "is clearly more important," since the company started.
Tru Kids Brands says he employs other external executives of the "R" Pools. The company will have a headquarters in New Jersey, where the former business was also based.
Some reasons for the decline of "R" Linn Toys, but there was an inoperable debt load at the top of the list. The new company has an advantage, since it does not have the load.
But "R" Toys will not be easy for us back to the US, said Neil Saunders, managing director at GlobalData Retail. The old company succeeded in keeping competitive prices with large box competitors such as Walmart ( WMT ) and Goal ( TGT ) sell both toys more than "R" Pools.
Amazon ( AMZN )
and other websites also offer a wide choice of online toys, spending in sales in large box warehouses such as Toys "R "Linn. "I think there is space in the market." To "toys left us a big hole," Saunders said. He said that the question to the new company is how they can compete and make profit.
Saunders praised that "R" Toys would be a way to distinguish themselves, possibly through restoring parents' experience and causing them to go to the store.
