In June, Dave Chappelle launched a special stand-up on YouTube called 8:46 which was shot in a semi-secret show in Ohio, for a crowd of 100 people. Instead of a single moment, Chappelle had taken some things out of her chest, but most of all, she was so special a series of semi-secret shows, guest only that Chappelle has been conducting with the permission of the Ohio governor and a local zoning council that conducts temperature checks, enforces social distancing, and works with the surrounding community to prevent noise complaints. However, one thing no one has been on the lookout for is that the unfortunate comedians who refuse to fade into the darkness, because one went through the cracks and staged … after being presumably invited by Chappelle to do so.
We are talking about Louis CK, of course, who previously returned in April when he posted a special surprise stand-up on his website. We don’t know what’s going on in Chappelle’s shows (apparently dubbed “Chappelle’s Summer Camp” on social media), but The Hollywood journalist he says that photographer Mathieu Bitton posted a photo on August 4 with CK, Chappelle and fellow performers Michelle Wolf, Mo Amer and DJ Trauma. Another photo was posted this weekend with CK, Sarah Silverman, Common, Tiffany Haddish and a few other familiar faces.
THR says he hasn’t heard anything from Chappelle’s rep about CK’s appearances, but we know Chappelle supported CK and criticized his accusers on the Netflix special Pallets and stones (a special that also saw him criticizes Michael Jackson accusers), so it’s not particularly surprising that Chappelle seems to offer him a platform here, though it’s a bit surprising that so many others celebrities have no problem sharing stage with a guy who has admitted cornering women and forcing them to watch him masturbate.
